Christian Education
St John Baptist Church seeks to create a disciple making culture by utilizing various ministry tools, strategies and programs to help people grow in Christ. Our focus is on resourcing ministry leaders so that they are best equipped to help people grow as disciples and make disciples in their homes, work, in the community and at church. This is accomplished through various Christian Education ministries (Sunday Church School, Discipleship Training Institute classes, monthly Women’s Bible Study and weekly Adult Bible Study classes).
CHILDREN & YOUTH
Vision: A Christ-centered Youth Ministry, making a difference for Jesus Christ in the lives of individuals, church, home, school, workplace, community and world.
Scriptural Foundation: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12).
Mission: To maintain a thriving, Spirit-filled youth ministry that transforms young people into Christ-like leaders while equipping them to serve Christ and their communities and be witnesses to the transforming power of Christ.
The Vision & Mission in Practice:
Once the youth begin to internalize and utilize Christ-like speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, the youth are equipped to go out and teach others what they have learned about God and carry on the work of Christ.
The Vision and Mission will be actualized through five primary areas of focus, which are as follows:
- Spiritual Development
- Service
- Systematic Education
- Social Justice
- Social Life
